The New Drops
House (8 posts) — House ran the week. Denis Sulta and Capri brought the Glasgow bounce with Push The Tempo, Fish Go Deep x Shy FX turned a deep house classic into a UK roller, Solardo kept the tech house ticking, Eli Brown went dark and driving, and Sorley x Mike Dunn got freaky about it. Route 94 got the Samm remix treatment, LEYO and Thierry Ganz did deep house stamina, and the Luchi dj Latin house joint went somewhere unexpected.
Drum and Bass (7 posts) — DnB covered the full spread this week. Cyantific on the dancefloor side, Etherwood and Grafix on the liquid end, Particle going full neurofunk, Pirapus on jump-up, Unglued and TJB delivering a roller with Esther Durin, and Primate & Nersha rounding it out.
Dubstep (7 posts) — Joker came back with that purple-tinted cathedral sound he built a decade ago. Halogenix and JD. REID made something that dissolves instead of drops. Seven went deep and patient on a double A-side. HerShe & Bass Ventura went full riddim, Wingz stayed heavy, and Oliverse and Said The Sky took the melodic lane.
Dance (5 posts) — Joel Corry got the Will Sparks big-room treatment, DJs From Mars did DJs From Mars things, Kevin de Vries kept the melodic techno rolling, Albi went dance-pop, and NCS celebrated with a greatest hits mashup.
Trance (4 posts) — Kai Tracid proved that a 303 and three decades of acid trance experience can still burn a hole through a speaker. Hyper Go Go brought back the piano, DJ Rob Fabrie went hard, and Timmy Trumpet got the MaRLo remix.
The rest: Slow Magic made me stand in a kitchen doing nothing until the track ended, Acyan & IKU went hybrid trap, Chillville Citizens got lo-fi, Dejector and P3PPER split the future bass vote, H93 & Vandal Rock went rave techno, Lynxie took the melodic bass route, DJ Kuba & Neitan liked the bass (their words), Silver Bullet went pop-electronic, and Hyper Potions & Nokae did speed house.
