Silver Bullet, Jess Cullity - Watching You

Watching You is the definition of fine, and on this blog fine is a problem. Silver Bullet pairs with vocalist Jess Cullity for a slick electronic-pop cut where every box is ticked and nothing catches. The production is spotless, Cullity can clearly sing, the drop lands right where you expect it to. But it’s the kind of clean that erases itself, the audio equivalent of a stock photo of happy people in an office. I listened twice and couldn’t have hummed a second of it back afterward. Silver Bullet’s production is technically flawless and emotionally beige, and I kept waiting for one choice that felt like a person instead of a preset. It never arrived. Everything is in tune and on the grid and completely weightless. I’ve heard this exact drop shape a hundred times this year, and nothing here makes this the version I’ll remember. Cullity deserves a beat with more character under her voice. This one’s a placeholder, and I’d skip it.
