Silver Bullet - HIGHER

NCS tracks live or die on the hook, and “HIGHER” has one that lodges itself immediately. Silver Bullet builds the whole thing around a vocal that soars into the drop with real momentum, and the production sitting underneath is cleaner and punchier than a lot of the copyright-free stuff that fills that catalogue. There’s a melodic-dubstep tilt to the drop, big detuned synths and a half-time switch that hands it weight without ever going full heavy. It’s unabashedly anthemic, aimed squarely at gaming streams and hype montages, and it does that job with more polish than it strictly had to. The little vocal-chop run right before the second drop at 2:00 is the kind of small detail that separates a track pulling millions of plays from one that scrapes a few thousand. Nobody’s reinventing the genre here, but reinvention was never the assignment. It’s a clean, hooky, high-energy record that knows precisely who it’s for and delivers for them without a wasted second. Good at its job, and refreshingly honest about what the job is.
