Clean, bright, and built to be enormous. NOBODY ELSE is Silver Bullet aiming squarely at the festival main stage with a melodic electronic drop that wants forty thousand people singing it back. The intro is all uplift, a piano line and a soaring vocal about, naturally, nobody else, piling tension on until the first drop detonates into a wall of supersaws. It’s the big, shiny, unironic end of the genre, the sound EDM built its stadiums on around 2014 and never fully walked back. The vocal hook is strong enough to survive being pitched up and folded into the drop, which is usually where these tracks fall apart. Nothing here is new, and the second drop is a near carbon copy of the first, which is my main gripe with it. But the songwriting underneath is genuinely sturdy, and sturdy is rarer than clever in this corner of dance music. For an NCS upload it punches well above its address. I’d hear it at a festival and not once reach for my phone.
