If your mental image of Revealed Recordings froze somewhere around 2015, Let’s Bring It Back will feel like a time machine, which is clearly the whole point of the title. MatricK is reaching straight back for peak-era big room, the kind of festival electro that ruled main stages before everyone pivoted to tech house and pretended they never loved it. The track is all surging energy and a drop built around a brash, slightly ridiculous lead that would have soundtracked a thousand phone-camera videos in its prime. There is zero irony anywhere in it, which is exactly what makes it work, a straight-faced love letter to a sound that got unfairly buried under a pile of think-pieces. Whether the wider world actually wants big room back is a genuine question, but for the length of this track I am completely convinced. The energy is relentless and gleefully dumb in the way the best of this stuff always was, no apology offered or needed. I played it twice and grinned both times. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, and MatricK is out here dealing.
