• This Week on coldplaysucks — May 25–31, 2026

Sixty-three posts this week, which sounds excessive until you look at the list and realize the music was the one being excessive — we just kept up. DnB showed up like it had a meeting scheduled, trance quietly loaded nine entries while no one was watching, and SubDocta dropped three separate WAKAAN releases inside 72 hours. Not a light week.

    Track of the Week

Sub Focus - Elevate (SOTA remix)

SOTA took a solid Sub Focus track and made something better out of it. The bassline sneaks in patient before everything kicks off, and the drop around two minutes is the kind of thing that makes you press play again immediately after. The rare remix that actually improves on the source material rather than just recirculating it. Hospital Records quality, UKF delivery, Sub Focus still untouchable.

    The New Drops

Drum & Bass (13 posts) — Ran the week. Koven, Krakota, Zero T, Pete & Bas, DJ Marky, Sub Focus — liquid, rolling, properly executed DnB from multiple corners of the genre.

Electronic (11 posts) — Everything that didn’t fit a cleaner box. Range was wide: indie electronic, progressive house adjacent, and whatever Dirty Signal is doing.

House / Tech House / Deep House (9 posts) — Solid week. Basement Jaxx getting the Gorgon City treatment was the clear standout, but the deep house corner had a few good ones buried in there too.

Trance (8 posts) — Above & Beyond live from ABGT200, Armin twice, Eynka with Låpsley, Yomanda’s re-edit. Trance did not take the week off.

Hardstyle (6 posts) — SCHIAVONI, Flux Overload, Thyron, Horyzon. The genre clocked in and did not mess around.

Experimental Bass (6 posts) — SubDocta released three things this week. Plus Liquid Stranger and Dirt Monkey. WAKAAN and its extended family just kept going.

Dubstep (4 posts) — Don Jamal went deep dubstep twice. Flava D brought the UK garage crossover with D Double E on the mic.

Trap (4 posts) — Dillon Francis on Monstercat, Viperactive and NGHTMRE. Trap was there, did its thing, left without making a scene.

    Also Banged This Week

    • Pete & Bas - Oldschool Gangsta — Two guys in their 70s making DnB and cooking the younger competition alive. Not a novelty act. The production is serious and the MCs have actual character. Listen →
    • Eynka feat. Låpsley - Promises — Melodic trance with actual restraint. Låpsley’s voice does that thing where it makes you feel specifically targeted, and the production earns it. Listen →
    • Yomanda - Sunshine (MDDLTN Re-Edit) — Late 90s UK trance classic, updated without scrubbing the soul out. The bar for re-edits is on the floor and this cleared it by a comfortable margin. Listen →
    • DJ Marky & Makoto - It’s Alright, I Feel It — Vanessa Freeman on the hook, Hospital Records on the label. Liquid DnB that works at 2am and somehow also on a Tuesday morning. Listen →
    • Basement Jaxx - Jump N’ Shout (Gorgon City Remix) — The original holds up. The remix makes it current. If you don’t know the Basement Jaxx back catalog, this is a good way to end up there. Listen →

See you next week. Coldplay still sucks.

2-min read. Roughly the length of 'Fix You' minus the part where it falls apart.
