• DJ Marky & Makoto - It's Alright, I Feel It (ft. Vanessa Freeman)

DJ Marky is basically a living institution at this point, and pairing him with Makoto and Vanessa Freeman on the hook is about as much pedigree as you can stack on a single DnB track. “It’s Alright, I Feel It” is exactly what you’d expect from Hospital Records — warm, liquid, impeccably constructed. Freeman’s vocal is the kind of thing that’s been genuinely missing from this sound for a while: full-throated and present, not just chopped into samples and buried under the mix. The production actually gives the voice room to breathe, which is harder than it sounds when you’re working in a genre that usually wants to fill every frequency. This is the kind of DnB that works in a dark club at 2am and somehow also works in the car on a Tuesday morning — that range is not easy to achieve. Hospital Records keeps delivering. DJ Marky shows no signs of slowing down, and at this point I’m not sure he knows how.
