There’s a bass sound about ninety seconds into this that wobbles at exactly the wrong speed to sit still to, like a washing machine with a brick in it, and it’s the best thing on the track. Ganja White Night take The Widdler’s “System Failure” and drag it out of the meditative deep-dubstep zone into their own swamp. The original is patient. This remix is not. GWN build everything around that lurching, seasick wobble they’ve made their whole identity, and it works because the bassline never quite lands where your body expects it to. It’s remarkable how much violence you can wring out of one detuned note when you refuse to let it resolve. This one’s for the mud-pit crowd, the people who go to Lost Lands and come back covered in someone else’s beer. Dumb in the best possible way, and it hits like a truck with the brakes cut.
