New Piece at the SAW Gallery
Theres a new exhibition in the SAW Gallery and it launched to coincide with the big Prairie Scene festival that is happening all over Ottawa this week. The entire Prairie Scene festival is happening all over Ottawa and looks at art from the Prairies (big surprise!). I took a circuit bending and contact microphone workshop that taught us how to dig into cheap value village electronic toys in order to find modifications that that produce crazy sounds. Here is a video of some of the art on display at the SAW Gallery, check it out.

Anticipation for Gaga in Toronto March 3
I was at the incredible show in Toronto March 3, and one of the interesting videos I filmed was of the wave by the crowd. There was some sort of delay to the show, almost 2 hours, however it was still a great show. Check out my earlier video of Gaga March 3, 2011 Check out the crowd doing the wave:

Drumcell Interivew
Electronic music producer Drumcell discusses some of his techniques in this interview video. It starts off showing off the future place for a crazy warehouse party then cuts right to the rocking deep techno at the party. I really love the videos they have being projected! Next they cut to his studio where he talks about how got into music playing guitar. His first forray came from reading about a producer who was able to produce his entire demo himself. This led him to learn about multi-track audio although he was into more aggressive band-type music.

Music Mondays: Cassius - Love You So (Skream Remix)
Let me start off by first warning: This is NOT the real music video for this song/remix. I have been a big fan of the Skream remix to Cassius' I Love You So ever since I first heard it a couple months ago. The original is released on the French electronic label Ed Banger (as in "head banger" pronounced by zee French) is very similar in sound yet radically different in style. I've been a fan of Justice and Uffie as well but haven't heard enough other releases to really know for sure if I'm an Ed Banger myself when...

ATAM Productions is Frozen
February 8, 2011 @ 11:49 Ottawa, Ontario Well good morning Internet world and audio enthusiasts. It's a pretty chilly day here in Ottawa, Canada. Last night the back door of my apartment swung open with wind and temperatures of -16 Celsius (Thats 3.2 degrees Farenheit for my American friends . . . brrr!) Today I've got a lot on my plate for audio work. On top of my regular habit of playing through podcasts et al I've got to come up with 3 or 4 short "interlude" type compositions based upon the soundtrack that I made for the independent short...

Music Mondays: Bach
Via TJ Dawe I found this awesome video that visually represents the cannon form within this Bach fugue. I love how it simplifies the complex patterns at hand

Afrojack is holding back awesome unreleased tracks
The following video shows the Dutch DJ Afrojack playing an incredible set at the DJ Mag Top 100 party on October 27, 2010. These tracks are almost as huge as he is. I may try to assemble a track-list for this, but one thing I notice is he has totally way better versions of these songs than I've ever heard before. Afrojack is holding back folks, he's got some killer material. For one the mash up version of Bangduck is off the hook.
