Zero builds the whole thing out of empty space and sub pressure, the sort of 140 dubstep that leaves half of every bar silent so the low end has somewhere to fall, and then Killa P walks in and starts issuing threats over it. P Money & Whiney - Photo Finish
Read more . . . →Straight-up one of the most fun drum and bass tracks I’ve heard this month. P Money on the mic over Whiney’s production is a pairing that shouldn’t lock in as seamlessly as it does — grime energy riding a rolling DnB engine that never lets up for a second. The bassline has this rubbery snap to it, and every time P Money hits a rapid-fire run the drums seem to tighten up behind him in response. Taiki Nulight has been quietly one of the most reliable people in UK bass for years and nobody outside the scene gives him enough credit, so a three-way link with Casey Club and Diligent Fingers feels overdue rather than random. The drop hits like a fire door slamming in a stairwell, all metal and echo, and P Money rides it like he’s been waiting his whole life for a beat this rude....
