Nobody flies the flag for pure trance harder than Solarstone, and “Solarcoaster” is him doing exactly what the name promises. The SUPERSTRINGS “Emotional Rollercoaster” remix leans all the way into the drama — sweeping supersaws, a breakdown that goes full uplifting-trance church around 3:00, and a build so long and patient it borders on cruel before it finally releases. This is old-school, unironic trance for people who never accepted that the genre went out of fashion, and the recent revival has proven them right. The lead melody is the star: simple, borderline naive, and it lodges in your head for hours — I was humming it in the shower this morning without knowing where it came from. SUPERSTRINGS clearly worships the source material and treats it with total sincerity, no wink, no irony. It runs long, as this stuff tends to, but the length is the point — trance is about the journey to the drop, not the drop itself, and this understands that in its bones. If you’ve got a soft spot for the Gouryella era, this will hit you square in the nostalgia. Euphoric to the point of being almost silly, and better for it.
