Armin dusting off “Sunny Days” for a summer remix is about as predictable as the season itself, and I’m not mad about it. The Summer Is Calling & Impani rework takes the original’s slightly dated 2017 vibe and drags it into a cleaner, more uplifting trance lane — bigger pluck synths, a faster pulse, and a drop at 1:20 that trades the original’s tropical-house bounce for genuine festival lift. Josh Cumbee’s vocal always was the strongest part of this song, and the remix wisely keeps it front and centre while rebuilding everything underneath. This is comfort food, and Armada knows it; the guy has been reliably delivering exactly this feeling for twenty-plus years and there’s something to be said for that consistency. The breakdown around 2:30 is where it earns the “uplifting” tag — a proper hands-in-the-air build that a Tomorrowland crowd would eat alive. It won’t surprise anyone who’s heard a trance record before, but it hits the pleasure centres it aims for with clinical accuracy. Some nights you don’t want to be challenged, you want the sun and a big melody. This is that, and it’s very good at being it.
