Omar Duro built this one for the precise instant at 3am when the lights come all the way up and everyone suddenly remembers why they came out. It’s got the classic uplifting-trance architecture: a long patient build, a breakdown that holds its tension a beat longer than feels comfortable, then a release aimed straight at the tear ducts. The lead melody is huge and shamelessly emotional, the kind of thing that would be corny in any other genre and is the whole entire point in this one. What keeps it from tipping into pure cheese is the low-end drive underneath; it works your feet while the melody goes to work on your chest. I actually stopped what I was doing at the drop, which more or less never happens on the fifth play of a workday. After years of everything being too cool to mean anything, that kind of sincerity lands harder than clever ever manages to.
