Metrik - Dawnbreaker (Subsonic Remix)

Metrik’s original “Dawnbreaker” was already a euphoric liquid roller, and Subsonic drags it somewhere harder without losing any of the light. What gets me is the bass tone in the remix — it’s got a saw-edged growl the original never had, and it turns the whole track from a sunrise moment into something you’d hear at the absolute peak of a festival set. The breakdown keeps Metrik’s soaring pads intact, so you get this lovely tension between the pretty top end and the mean bottom. Then at 2:10 the whole thing detonates. I’ve been a sucker for this kind of melodic-but-heavy DnB since forever, and Subsonic nails the ratio here, never once tipping into cheese even when the melody swells right up. Remixes like this justify their existence by finding the thing the original left sitting on the table. This one found the grit and ran with it. On a system with real sub the low end hits completely differently than it does on laptop speakers, so hear it loud if you can.
