Put this on to test a new set of headphones and lost twenty minutes to it instead. “Misbehave” is jump-up drum and bass with a grin, K Motionz doing that bouncy, elastic bassline thing where the low end feels like it’s being yanked and snapped back on every bar. The “jazza’s dance party” billing tells you not to expect a serious record, and thank god. There’s a chant buried in it that’s basically one word repeated until it turns into percussion, and a bass patch that gurgles like it’s laughing at you. This is music for jumping around a sweaty room, full stop. The second drop swaps the bass tone for something even dafter and it got a laugh out of me on the third pass. K Motionz keeps making bass sounds that are cartoonish without ever tipping into annoying, and I genuinely don’t understand how he does it. Most fun I’ve had with a dnb track this week.
