Genuinely did not expect to be moved by an Armin van Buuren mainstage clip in 2026, and yet here we are. This is “Everlasting” with SACHA in Armin’s own Rising Star remix, filmed live on the Tomorrowland mainstage, and the crowd footage does half the work. Trance is all about the breakdown, and this one holds its tension right up to the edge of unbearable before the melody comes crashing back. The man could coast on his catalogue forever, so it’s a small miracle he still builds a drop like he’s got something to prove to somebody. The Rising Star alias is where he lets the trance run longer and prouder than his radio edits allow, and it suits him. Watching eighty thousand people lose it in unison to a single melody is the sort of thing that shuts my inner cynic up for four minutes straight. Yes it’s cheesy. Trance is meant to be, and acting too cool for it just means missing the best feeling the genre has on offer.
