The hook is the whole thing here: a wordless vocal line looping the phrase “out of my head” until it is lodged in yours, which is either a victory or a threat depending on your mood. James Marley works the melodic, progressive end of trance, the Armada style aimed at the exact second of a festival sunset. It is pure sincerity, a glassy lead and a build engineered for a hands-in-the-air payoff, and it hits that target dead on without overreaching. Trance has always been the genre least embarrassed about feeling things out loud, and tracks like this are why it keeps outliving the people who declare it dead every couple of years. There is a real pull to the melody once it opens up, the sort that gets you even when you can see every move coming from a mile off. You will either surrender to the hook or resent it. I surrendered somewhere around the second chorus.
