The banjo-adjacent pluck that runs through “World Away” is the thing that makes it. Strip that texture out and you’ve got a fairly standard Gryffin builder; leave it in and the track suddenly has an organic ache most festival-melodic stuff can’t fake. BUNT.’s folk-leaning touch gives the whole thing roots, and Inéz’s vocal carries real hurt in it, not the workshopped kind. It builds exactly the way you’d expect and the drop at 1:20 hits exactly the emotional note it’s aiming for, and honestly, knowing the mechanism doesn’t stop it from landing. That’s its own kind of craft. It lives in that overlap of festival uplift and something more rootsy, and the combination runs warmer than either producer manages alone. This is sunset-set music, arms up, a little teary, and there’s no shame in any of it. Some nights that register is exactly the one you’re after. I’d have this on driving home with the windows down and the sky doing something ridiculous.
