Does the world need a dance remake of “Tongue Tied” fifteen years on? I asked that too, then played it four times, so apparently yes. GROUPLOVE’s 2011 original scored every coming-of-age trailer of that era, and Snakehips have flipped it into a proper 2026 club track without gutting what made it work. The “take-take-take” hook is still there, still absurdly catchy, now riding a garage-leaning beat with a bassline they clearly had a blast building. Hearing that chorus over a modern low end is a genuine time-warp for anyone who was around the first time. I got a jolt of being nineteen the second it kicked in. The remix keeps the ramshackle, hand-clappy charm of the original instead of steamrolling it into generic festival goo, which was the exact thing I feared they’d sand off. Snakehips kept the joy and added weight, which is the only way a remake like this earns its existence. It’s shameless and I don’t care one bit. Fifteen years later and that chorus still works on me exactly the way it did then.
