David Guetta, Marten Hørger & Men Machine - Engage (feat. Vitalic)

When did David Guetta get interesting again? Genuine question, because “Engage” has no business being this good. It’s a collaboration with Marten Hørger and Men Machine that features Vitalic, and if you know Vitalic’s “La Rock 01” you already know the exact brand of buzzsaw electro-bass this is reaching for. The whole thing is built on that filthy, distorted French-electro lead, the sound that ate dancefloors in 2007 and apparently never fully died. Guetta’s usually the guy sanding these sounds down for the pop charts, so hearing him lean into something this aggressive and analog is a genuine shock. The drop is all snarl and no gloss, a nasty saw-bass riff that stomps where his radio hits usually shimmer. It’s got that Justice-adjacent grime to it, the dirt EDM mostly forgot how to make. That Guetta’s name is on something this feral is the surprise of my week. Filed under sentences I did not expect to write in 2026.
