• Far East Movement & The Cataracs ft. DEV - Like A G6 (Manila Killa Remix)

Okay, this one’s a genuine surprise. Manila Killa took Like A G6, the 2010 club anthem that everyone pretended to hate and secretly loved, and rebuilt it as a drum and bass track. On paper that should be a disaster. In practice it absolutely rips. The original’s hook is so embedded in a certain generation’s brain that hearing it over rolling DnB drums creates this weird time-travel feeling, like your high school memories got remastered. Manila Killa is smart about it too. He doesn’t lean entirely on nostalgia, he actually flips the energy into something that works on a current dancefloor rather than a throwback night. The drop keeps the vocal recognizable while burying it in bass that the 2010 version could never have dreamed of. I went in ready to roll my eyes and came out grinning like an idiot. This is what a good remix does. It takes something you’d written off and makes you hear it new. Sober up, get drunk again, whatever. Just play it.

1 minute. Used wisely. Unlike most Coldplay run-times.
