• Dimension & Subsonic - Ghost Town

This one doesn’t ask permission. Dimension has spent years building the kind of dnb that fills a main stage without going brainless, and “Ghost Town” with Subsonic is him at full main-stage voltage. The intro fakes you out with a hushed, almost eerie vocal and a slow build that feels like it’s setting up something moody, and then around 1:15 the floor drops out and a bassline the size of a bus rolls straight through it. That switch is the whole song. The contrast between the ghostly top-line and the absolutely enormous low end is what keeps it from being just another festival roller. Subsonic’s production is clean without being sterile, every drum crack landing where it should while still hitting like it means it. The second drop adds a snarling extra layer the first one held back, so the track keeps escalating rather than coasting on its best idea. It’s built for a field at night with the bass bins stacked to the sky, and it will do exactly what it’s designed to do to a crowd.

1-min. Faster than skipping past a Coldplay ad on Spotify.
