Who are DANIQ and DRIXS and why is their Spinnin’ debut this assured? “IDK” is slick, radio-shaped dance-pop with a drop that snaps clean, and it does not sound like a first outing. The vocal hook is chopped into that stuttered, half-sung “I-I-IDK” pattern producers reach for when they want a topline that doubles as a lead, and here it actually earns the trick instead of just riding it. It’s built for daytime radio and summer car speakers, polished within an inch of its life, and I don’t hold that against it for a second. The bass has a little more body than these tracks usually bother with, which is the detail that lifts it above wallpaper. The mix is bright to the point of gleaming, every element buffed until it catches the light. Not a track that’ll define anyone’s year, but a very promising sign from a pairing this sharp on their first go. Curious where they head next.
