Zomboy - Bromance Is Dead

Zomboy naming a track “Bromance Is Dead” is exactly the kind of dumb-brilliant energy I want from dubstep in 2026. He was one of the faces of the brostep boom a decade ago, and instead of pretending that era never happened, he’s leaning into it with a wink. The track itself is huge, all swaggering mid-range and a drop that struts more than it stomps. There’s a confidence here that younger producers can’t fake, the sound of someone who has done this ten thousand times and still finds it fun. I appreciate that he didn’t chase whatever the algorithm currently rewards, he just made a big stupid gloriously heavy banger. The breakdown has an almost emotional lift before it slams back into the chaos, which keeps it from being a pure war machine. It’s the rare nostalgia move that doesn’t feel like a cash grab. Bromance might be dead but Zomboy clearly isn’t. Crank it loud enough to annoy somebody you love.
