We started keeping score. From now on the newsletter opens with what you actually played the most this month, not what we felt like hyping. No view counts, no dashboards — just the order, and from next week, who’s climbing and who’s getting bumped. Consider this the opening bell.
The Charts
The inaugural board. Everything’s a debut this week, so nobody’s been knocked off yet — that bloodsport starts next issue.
- AVE – Meet Me In The Dark — top of the very first chart. You have taste. Listen →
- MXTR & Tyler Garrett – Disconnected — refused to leave the rotation. Listen →
- Don Toliver – Cardigan (Knock2 Remix) — the Knock2 flip did its job. Listen →
- RL Grime & ISOxo – Jewel — two of the heaviest names in the game, behaving accordingly. Listen →
- HEDEGAARD, Arash – Say My Name — snuck into the top five on pure replay value. Listen →
- J Ribbon – Man On Fire — earned it. Listen →
- Omar Souleyman – Allishiryan — the one nobody saw coming and everybody kept playing. Listen →
- Quoone – Don’t Stop — took the title literally. Listen →
- SubDocta, Wubbaduck – Wobble Dance — WAKAAN weirdness, charting. Good. Listen →
- Surreal – Inbetween — scraped onto the board and we’re glad it did. Listen →
Track of the Week
AVE – Meet Me In The Dark
It’s number one because you put it there, not because we told you to — which is exactly the point of doing this. It’s the kind of track that quietly becomes the one you reach for, and apparently a lot of you reached. Listen →
The New Drops
Sixty-three new ones hit the site this week. The split:
Electronic (27) — the big tent did most of the heavy lifting, as usual.
Drum & Bass (13) — second place and not even close for the runner-up. DnB had a week.
House (9) / Deep House (6) — four-on-the-floor stayed busy on both ends of the temperature scale.
Trance (8) — hands stayed in the air, led by Above & Beyond – 1001 (Live From ABGT200) doing exactly what an ABGT moment should.
Experimental Bass (6) / Hardstyle (6) — the weird and the relentless, tied. Chozen b2b Noetika – Live Red Rocks Set for the former, D-Charged – RE:WIND for the latter.
Also banged this week:
- 2ACES & Josh Le Tissier – Like Home — clean. Listen →
- Benda & Z3LLA – Sleepless — dubstep that earns the title. Listen →
- Don Jamal – Breaking Through — deep dubstep, low and patient. Listen →
See you next week — when the chart finally has arrows. Coldplay still sucks.
