Fifty-six tracks this week. House ran the board, DnB stayed relentless, and dubstep had an actual moment courtesy of some people I assumed had retired. A lot of ground to cover and most of it was worth covering, which is its own problem for a digest.
Track of the Week
Nero & Taiki Nulight - We’re Not Alone (ft. Emily Makis)
Nero making dubstep again in 2026. That sentence alone would have been enough for this slot. “Welcome Reality” was the record half of us blew speakers to in the early 2010s, and hearing them lean back into that weight with Taiki Nulight thickening the low end feels like something I forgot I was waiting for. Emily Makis keeps the whole thing from being pure nostalgia — there’s a real song in here, not just a reunion set. Listen →
The New Drops
House (14 posts) — House ran everything this week. Tech house, deep house, afro house, progressive — every sub-genre turned up with something playable. Stryv’s “Patigo” brought the Afro-house bounce, Eelke Kleijn continued being one of the best-kept secrets in melodic house, and Route 94’s “4Get The Girl” got a Mellizos remix that drags it somewhere dirtier than the 2014 original.
Electronic / Melodic (13 posts) — The synth-heavy, pretty-sad corner of the internet had a massive week. Ninajirachi got Porter Robinson on a track and it landed exactly where it needed to. Said The Sky and ILLENIUM teamed for “When The Light Breaks” — it’s going to be unavoidable and probably deserves to be. gabriawll and Jai Wolf both delivered the wistful stuff at opposite ends of the energy spectrum.
Drum and Bass (9 posts) — Liquid ruled the DnB corner. Pola & Bryson, Justin Hawkes, and A Little Sound all dropped things warm enough to convince you breakbeats have feelings. A.M.C then showed up with a remix of Circadian’s “Energy In Motion” and bulldozed the nice vibe flat — neurofunk with no manners. Jump-up stayed busy through K Motionz and Hedex, both grinning.
Dubstep (6 posts) — Nero came back. Flux Pavilion linked with Freestylers and it worked. The Widdler got two remix treatments in the same week — Distinct Motive took him deep, Ganja White Night dragged him into the swamp. Tape B’s “Underneath Your Skin” kept his current streak going.
Trance (4 posts) — Oakenfold and Ferry Corsten in a studio together could have gone sideways and didn’t. “Metaverse” sounds current. Lucca Saettone went full uplifting and Martyno Dowsha went full vocal, and both committed.
Trap (3 posts) — BAGG’s bootleg flip hit harder than most originals this month. No Signal, FrostTop, and RemK dropped “powerANTHEM” and yes, the caps are earned.
Electro House (3 posts) — Dyro and Dannic back on that 2013 big-room energy felt like a time capsule that somehow still works. Guetta got Vitalic involved in something and the result is better than it has any right to be.
