This is the Oden and Fatzo collaboration that actually earns its guest list. Hold On brings in MEZERG, and if you have ever fallen down the YouTube hole of a sweaty French guy playing bass with a theremin and his bare hands, you know he does not phone anything in. The track is still recognisably Defected house, warm and loop-driven, but MEZERG’s fingerprints are all over the low end, which bends and slaps in ways a stock software bass simply cannot. Noa Milee handles the vocal and keeps it understated, a plea that never oversells itself. What makes this one stick where the duo’s other recent stuff blurs together is that the bassline is genuinely performed instead of programmed, so it breathes a little unevenly, speeding and dragging like a human playing live and feeling it. That tiny imperfection is the whole difference between the three. The drop is not bigger than their usual, it is just more alive. I braced for the house conveyor belt and got something with actual hands on it. Proof that the right collaborator is worth more than the right preset. The one from their recent run I will still be reaching for next month.

Curbi - Caliente
Oct 2026 —
Curbi's Caliente is bass house at the exact temperature the name promises. Sweaty, loud, a little dumb, and we're completely in. Play it loud.
