    Viper keeps finding artists like this. Jump-up energy without being obnoxious about it. Viper Recordings has basically been the gateway label for a generation of DnB heads — Futurebound’s been running it since the early 2000s and the A&R has stayed weirdly sharp through every wave of the genre. Lateral fits the lineage. “Do U Wanna” rides that bouncy jump-up bassline pattern but mixes the engineering with enough headroom that it doesn’t turn into the usual cartoon-honk drop. There’s a real groove under the bass design, and the vocal chops actually do something instead of just being a placeholder hook. It’s a track you can spin in a sweaty club or in a car at 8am and it works in both.
