• Eats Everything & Descent - Moonblower

Eats Everything has spent fifteen years being the guy who makes the whole club grin at once, and Moonblower is more of that gleefully daft energy. This is proper UK tech house — a bouncing bassline, a vocal sample chopped into nonsense, and a groove built entirely for the peak-time moment when everyone’s given up on being cool. Teaming with Descent, he keeps things stripped and physical, the low end doing almost all the talking while a single squelchy synth pokes through on the offbeat. The drop, such as it is, arrives around 1:30, and it’s less an explosion than a lock-in, the whole thing settling into a groove so relentless you stop noticing time passing. That’s the trick with this style — the hypnosis matters more than any single big moment, and Eats Everything is a master of the loop that never gets old. There’s a genuine sense of humour baked into it, a wink in the vocal chop that tells you not to take any of this too seriously. Music for sweating in a dark room with a stupid smile on your face. Absolutely does the job.

1 minute. You read this in less time than Chris Martin says 'thank you, beautiful crowd'.
