How do you make a track that just rolls for five minutes and never once gets boring? The amen break is the answer, and the one in Miles and Miles is chopped with a looseness that tells you immediately these are two producers who came up on jungle, not on presets. BOP and Logistics both work the deeper, more musical end of the Hospital stable, and together they have built a drum and bass roller that sounds like the back half of a very good night. The bassline is pure warmth, a round sub content to sit back and let the chopped breaks and a wistful little melodic motif carry the feeling. A sampled vocal sits buried low in the mix, barely a word, more a texture than a line, and it lends the whole thing a half-remembered quality, like a song you are certain you know and cannot place. It rolls and rolls, exactly as the title promises, never reaching for a big moment because the groove is the moment. This is deep liquid for anyone who finds the radio-friendly end of the genre too sweet. Put it on at the end of the night and let it roll.
