• Anaïs & Olivia Rose - Round Town

Play this for the person in your life who insists all drum and bass sounds the same and watch the argument die in their throat. “Round Town” is bright, vocal-led liquid dnb that rolls rather than batters, and Anaïs and Olivia Rose stack their harmonies until the hook feels twice as wide as the track has any right to be. The bassline is round and warm, more of a pulse than a punch, and the drums skip underneath with that effortless liquid shuffle that’s much harder to program than it ever sounds. It’s summer-evening music, windows-down music, the sort of thing that makes a commute feel like the opening scene of a better day than the one you’re actually having. It’s after a feeling rather than a body count, and it catches the feeling clean. I’ve played it four times writing this and the harmonies still lift the room every time.

1 minute. You read this in less time than Chris Martin says 'thank you, beautiful crowd'.
