  • Audio Tip: From the Ableton Live Manual

One point for all the producers out there, from the Ableton Live manual.

Although the Complex modes may sound better, particularly when used with mixed sound files containing many different kinds of audio material, they are never neutral not even at the original tempo. Because of this, and because of the increased CPU demands of these algorithms, we recommend using them only in cases where the other Warp modes don't produce sufcient results.

This is one of the reasons that the technique known as "stem-mastering" sounds so good when finishing up songs, basically you're locking down the complex algorithm (assuming you used one, they sound cool, right??) into a single file.

This is especially important to any producers making beats or looking for a tight bass. You can't get anything that solid sounding in your percs, kick or bass unless you're using one of the more simple algorithms in Live.
