“Something New” just broke something in my car stereo and I am refusing to investigate. Twørk is one of those producers who keeps the dubstep spelled-with-a-slash purist alive — wonky bass design, no melodic crutch, mids that feel like getting shoved. The drop hits and the whole frequency spectrum decides to argue with itself for thirty seconds. It’s mean without being macho about it, which is harder to pull off than people think. The kind of track you queue right after a long meeting to reset your nervous system. Bring earplugs to the show. Or don’t.
