Sprechen sie Ableton? Live release date March 5, 2013
Ableton Live 9 release date has been announced for March 5 this year. I'm very excited to get my hands on the push controller as well as the newly redesigned Live. Particularly interesting will be the Max4Live scene. They are now building this into the highest end Ableton so more people will have their hands on this incredible tool.

The Aug EP, and new ways to (re)market music within the iTunes Music Store
This week Apple announces their iOS 6 operating system, which will probably be the OS that's on the iPhone 5. I have been using the OS for a little while now and I noticed an interesting feature in the redesigned iPod app. Basically when you're listening to a song that's part of an album available on the iTunes Music Store a small box appears at the bottom like this: From there you can click the button and you get offered to complete the rest of the album as if you were in the iTunes Store App. This is great news...

Music Mondays: Chilly Gonzales Solo Piano 2
The incredibly talented Chilly Gonzales has released a follow up to his album Solo Piano. The first solo piano has some of my favourite contemporary, solo piano, songs. The album is light and easy to listen to. I work at an art gallery and this will be on frequent rotation (provided I can get it playing on the CD player). A while back we wrote about his performance of The Grudge on piano. This album, and the original Solo Piano, feature no speaking parts, only piano. Check it out on iTunes:

Apple vs. Samsung
We hedged our bets with Apple at ColdplaySucks.com, not because of some fan-boy obsession but because we were guessing that Apple would win this modern-day Goliath vs David given the technologies and patents that were being infringed. Earlier this week the jury in the case between Apple and Samsung in the United States revealed their decision. This could result in Samsung paying around $1 billion (that's billion, not Bitcoins ;-) in damages to Apple (unless additional litigation changes these figures) I have been a long believer that certain Samsung devices have been designed to duplicate the features in iOS, and...

Earbud Review: Klipsch S4i vs S4i Reference
[caption id="attachment_1506" align="alignleft" width="260"] Detail view of the S4i Reference capsule I am using today[/caption] Over the course of the last two years I have used over a dozen different headphones and earbuds with my iPhone 4 and now with my iPhone 4s. My first set was the included white earbuds by Apple. My first upgraded set was some über-cheap in-ear earbuds from CanadaComputers. The price was right and at $8 I decided to buy 2 pair. A month later I got another three, as my first 2 stopped producing sound out of one side and the connection became weakened...

Music Mondays: firewire - Telepathic
This week's Music Monday goes out to one of our close associates at ATAM Productions with the release of ATAM 007 which is the single Telepathic by the new artist firewire. This artist is actually part of the group Massaad + Garland that we've covered before. Go check them out! From the record label homepage: This song was written in 2010 while firewire was working on music for film scores. It never was selected for anything at the time, but now has been released for your listening pleasure. You can listen to a preview on SoundCloud below or buy it...
