OS X Lion Release Date in Canada
[caption id="attachment_1259" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="The new box for OS X Lion? Think again, Lion will be digitally distributed only."][/caption] As far as I know OS X Lion is coming to the world and Canada on July 22, 2011. The new OS is going to be distributed only on Apple's internal App Store and will be at the low $30 price point much like the release of Snow Leopard. Clearly this low price point has worked well for Apple by encouraging early-adoption while simultaneously discouraging piracy. I think that this is not a sustainable price for consumers though, I was recently...

Feed Me at Babylon June 2, 2011 part 1 of 3
I recently went to see the amazing DJ set by Feed Me at Babylon Nightclub in Ottawa on June 2, 2011. He dropped some great tracks and it was alright to check out the (lame) Ottawa scene. After the intro he plays To The Stars, followed by Silicon Lube, Great tracks, go pick them up on iTunes or Beatport today!

Cthulu Sleeps fan cover
I'm a pretty big fan of cover songs given the fact that I just released a cover song of This Is Our Night on my own record label. Here is a cover of the deadmau5 song Cthulu Sleeps. Pretty quality work if you ask me!

New Piece at the SAW Gallery
Theres a new exhibition in the SAW Gallery and it launched to coincide with the big Prairie Scene festival that is happening all over Ottawa this week. The entire Prairie Scene festival is happening all over Ottawa and looks at art from the Prairies (big surprise!). I took a circuit bending and contact microphone workshop that taught us how to dig into cheap value village electronic toys in order to find modifications that that produce crazy sounds. Here is a video of some of the art on display at the SAW Gallery, check it out.

Music Mondays: Florrie - Begging Me (music video for new EP out in May)
This week I'm bringing you a new music video from Florrie, a band I just discovered. I can't believe I've never discovered this yet, its really great music! I really like the clean simple video, back to how a good, yet basic, music video should be. It's not some distracting special effects montage that distracts you from the fact that the song is crap. Over produced, but it looks like they can pull it off live. Check out a performance of Florrie live :

Music Mondays:Santigold ft Karen O on "Go"
I just heard this via AudioPornCentral's coverage on Santigold. BTW, APC is a great blog for following good talent. They've always got new edgy music that doesn't necessarily stick to one genre, unless awesome music is a genre. Anyhow, its pretty interesting to hear this mash of talent, I thought it sounded a little bit like MIA during the first half, what do you think? Anyhow, enough for now, I'm immersed in the new Foo Fighters album Santigold feat. Karen O - Go by ListenBeforeYouBuy

Music Mondays: ATAM004 - Massaad + Garland - Atmosphere
Here is a track that was made by the Ottawa-based vocal duo Massaad + Garland and just released at the begining of March 2011 on the independent electronic label ATAM Productions I'm a big fan of the vocoder sound so this one is an instant win but also worthy of attention is the instrumental version which doesnt have any of this vocal. A bit of history about the track: the music and percussion was originally made for last summer but for some reason or another it never got finished. This year a vocal was added and the whole thing was...
