• Rips - 2.5mm Flex (2021)

“2.5mm Flex” is dark, heavy and absolutely hypnotic — Rips operating in deep dubstep mode, which is the strain of the genre that never went pop and never wanted to. Half-step drums, sub-bass that you feel before you hear, no room for a chorus and none required. The whole track lives in the meditative-but-menacing pocket that Tempa and Deep Medi built a label around. It’s the version of dubstep that DJs play on a proper rig at 4am to the people who stayed. If your only frame of reference is the 2012 festival drop era, this is the antidote. Real dubstep hours.

1-minute read. Already more thought than the average 'Yellow' replay.
