Give this ninety seconds before you write off NCS as background noise for other people’s videos. Defect is a Reece Rosé cut off the No Copyright Sounds channel, and it’s sharper than that reputation would have you expect. It lands in the genre-fluid electronic space that channel loves, a bit of melodic dubstep, a bit of future bass and a pop-sized hook all sharing one drop without stepping on each other. The vocal is bright and slightly wounded, the sort that reads as heartbreak from across a room, and it sets up a drop that hits harder than the tidy intro suggests. What caught me is the low end: there’s real grit in the bass here, a snarl most of this channel’s output files down for the study-playlist crowd. It’s clean and catchy and built for the streams and montages it’ll inevitably soundtrack, but there’s more bite in it than the algorithm ordered. A day later the melody was still there, uninvited. Whatever “free to use” is supposed to mean, this sounds like someone actually cared.

BraydenK, Duke Gray - Feel Alive
Sep 2026 —
BraydenK and Duke Gray swap the trap snare for a detuned choir glitching mid-hymn. Sweet topline, nasty low end. Best call on the record.
