Instant playlist add. Martin Garrix keeping house music alive and well. Yes, the “Animals” guy — but Garrix has been quietly drifting away from big-room EDM festival fodder for years now, and “Catharina” is one of those tracks that confirms he’s actually a decent house producer when he stops chasing the main-stage drop. The groove sits in that warm, slightly Dutch-tech-house pocket, with a vocal chop that loops just enough to get stuck without overstaying. The bassline is the move. No screeching lead, no festival riser to nowhere, just a clean four-on-the-floor cut you can leave on while you cook dinner or drive somewhere with the windows down. That’s the upgrade.
