Four names on one track usually means four egos and no song. Not here. “Low Down Deep” is a proper 140 roller: Hypho and Neumonic laying down a bassline that creeps instead of screams, PAV4N riding it with that half-menace, half-grin delivery he’s carried since the Foreign Beggars days. The bass patch has a hollow, throat-clearing growl that sounds better the lower your neighbours’ opinion of you sinks. Who Knew slots in on the back end and the whole thing gets grimier without losing an ounce of the groove. I ran it back three times before I noticed the drums barely change across the full six minutes; the movement is all in the low end, shifting a little every eight bars so you never quite settle. That’s the flex. Nobody’s trying to out-loud anybody here. Just four people who clearly own the same records agreeing on how heavy is heavy enough.
