This one’s just pure serotonin. Glitch Cat make the kind of Monstercat electro-house that has no interest in being cool and every interest in making you grin like an idiot, and “u-know” is a big dumb hit of exactly that. It rides a vocal chop that bounces around like a superball in a small room, over a bassline that struts like it owns the place. The drop is bright, springy, almost cartoonish, all primary colours and no shame about any of them. There’s a synth lead in the second half that sounds like video-game boss music got a glow-up and a gym membership. I threw it on during the worst possible stretch of a grey Wednesday and caught myself doing that little seated shoulder-dance you do when you think nobody’s watching. That reaction is the only recommendation a track like this actually needs. Monstercat puts out a hundred of these a month and every so often one just sticks to you for no defensible reason. This is one of those, and I’ve stopped trying to justify it.
