DJ Kuba, Neitan, Beat & Encore & CERES - I Like The Bass

This is gloriously stupid and I mean that with total affection. “I Like The Bass” is exactly what a track called “I Like The Bass” ought to be: a huge, dumb, bass-house battering ram with a vocal that just yells the title at you until you comply. DJ Kuba and Neitan link with Beat and Encore and CERES for something engineered purely to detonate a festival crowd, no deeper reading required or offered. The drop is all distorted low-end and that shouted hook, the kind of thing that sounds absurd on a laptop and completely reasonable through a wall of subs. There’s a half-time flip in the second drop that briefly doubles the weight and got a genuine laugh out of me. Music like this exists to make ten thousand people jump at the same instant, and by that one measure it’s a total success. I would never put it on at home. I would also lose my mind if it dropped at a festival.
