The title is a groan and the track is a good time, which is a trade I’ll take any day. “Miss Behave” pairs Dani Thorne with SHMANI for a piece of bratty, electro-leaning house that’s more fun than it has any right to be. The vocal is all attitude, half-sung and half-sneered, riding a bassline that bounces with a rubbery, cartoonish snap. This lives firmly in the party-starter lane, the kind of track built for a specific hour of a specific night when nobody’s overthinking a thing. What surprised me is how tight the arrangement is; there’s no fat on it, every section earns its spot and gets out before it wears thin. The drop has a squelchy lead that wriggles around the beat in a way that made me laugh out loud the first time. Dani Thorne catches a lot of stray shots for arriving at this from acting, and on the evidence here she can build a groove that actually works. Some nights you just want a track that’s clearly enjoying itself, and this one is.
