• Da Hool - Meet Her At The Love Parade (Don Diablo ReHex)

If you have ever been anywhere near a warehouse party, you already know this riff even if the name means nothing to you. “Meet Her At The Love Parade” has been detonating dancefloors since 1997, and Don Diablo’s ReHex is smart enough not to touch the part of your brain that already loves it. That hypnotic, slightly menacing bassline stays exactly where it belongs. What he does instead is modernise the frame around it, tighter drums and a cleaner low end and a bit more punch in the kick so the thing translates to a 2026 sound system rather than a 1997 one. The famous build still does its trick where it coils tighter and tighter until you are convinced you cannot take another bar, and then it lets go. Don Diablo treats the original like the landmark it is and mostly stays out of its way, which is the only correct way to remix something this iconic. Hearing a room full of people who were not alive in 1997 completely lose it to this riff is its own kind of vindication. Some records simply refuse to age, and this is one of them in a fresh coat of paint.
