Pre-Fancy, pre-major label, pre-everything-people-have-opinions-about Iggy — back when she was a 21-year-old Aussie who’d moved to the US chasing the dream and dropping mixtape cuts on YouTube. “My World” is from that 2011 stretch where nobody outside the underground hip-hop blogs had heard of her, and the beat hits harder than anything she did once the machine got involved. Slow, mean, southern-leaning production with that drawl on top. Worth digging up just to remember the version of her that existed before the discourse swallowed everything.
