• Music Mondays: Ken Macbeth

Dirty synth jam, watch in HD. Ken Macbeth is the Scottish builder behind Macbeth Studio Systems — the modular and standalone analog synths that a very particular kind of producer would sell a kidney for. The M5 and the Elements have a fat, slightly unhinged character that you basically can’t get out of soft synths. This clip is him noodling on his own gear and you can hear exactly why people pay what they pay for these boxes. The 360p version does it a disservice. Crank the resolution, crank the volume, and let the oscillators cook.

1-min. Faster than skipping past a Coldplay ad on Spotify.
